The great news is, there is – and it can be YOU! Become a Health Champion. As a Health Champion, you’ll play an essential role in energizing AdventHealth employees to live an abundant life and carry the message of CREATION Health to your co-workers. Health Champions are not only resources of wellness, positivity and encouragement, but also catalysts for changing the AdventHealth workplace culture to one that is centered around love, health and wellness of mind, body and spirit.

What Do You Need to Do?

It takes a lot of heart and passion for carrying forward the message of CREATION Health to your co-workers. As a Health Champion, you’ll influence the culture of your department/unit to ensure healthy choices are available and encouraged. And you’ll have plenty of tools along the way – personal stories, real-world examples, marketing flyers, and messaging will be provided in quarterly meetings to help you promote the principles of CREATION Health to your team.

  • Program Leads

    Paige Heath is the Regional Manager of Health Promotion and Wellness for AdventHealth North Florida Region. Paige has been with AdventHealth, formerly Florida Hospital, for more than 10 years. In her past role, she served as a CREATION Health Consultant in the Central Florida Division – South Region. While there, Paige partnered with key leaders to create and infuse a culture of wellness, centered on the eight principles of CREATION Health. Paige attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Fitness Management from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and has been a certified personal trainer for more than 12 years. She looks forward to creating pathways to wellness for AdventHealth employees. Paige has said, “Each person’s journey is different but an overall sesnse of health and well-being is the destination. Our team members do so much to care for aptietns and families. This program is something we can do to care for them.” When she’s not at work, she loves spending time building furniture or fixing up her house, watching her son (10) and daughter (5) play sports, working out, relaxing at the lake, or fishing on the beach.

    Brittani Janson is the Senior Coordinator for the Central Florida North Region Employee Wellness Program. Brittani earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Stetson University. Prior to being a full-time employee at AdventHealth, Brittani was a student intern for the Employee Wellness Program. During her internship, Brittani realized that having a position in employee wellness would open the opportunity to fulfill her lifelong passion of helping others. In 2016, Brittani decided to pursue a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training which granted her the ability to share her passion of yoga with others. Brittani’s goal is to meet people where they are at in life. We are all on a different path with different goals and physical attributes—following the philosophy of CREATION Health allows us to find balance in everything we do and achieve small milestones which accumulate over time to an AMAZING accomplishment. Outside of work you can find Brittani practicing yoga, spoiling her two children (her pups Shiloh & Oakley), or traveling with her soon-to-be husband and enjoying the outdoors.

  • AdventHealth Daytona Beach

    Jocelyn Krise is a physical therapist by trade and has spent most of her life engaged in health and wellness. With an active childhood and early focus on making healthy choices, she was quickly drawn to a career in the medical field. Jocelyn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Indianapolis. In addition to her license as a physical therapist, she is also a certified athletic trainer (ATC) and certified lymphedema therapist (CLT). Jocelyn currently serves as the Manager of Rehab Services for AdventHealth Daytona Beach with oversight of Outpatient and Acute Rehabilitation, Outpatient Diabetes Education, and Center for Health and Wellness. She finds yoga to be a great stress-reliever, loves to kayak and paddle board, and feels blessed to live in the Sunshine State!

    Jesse Santos has loved health and wellness for as long as she remembers. She’s been an athlete her whole life and enjoys staying active through many avenues of fitness including: strength training, yoga, volleyball and running, just to name a few. Jesse is passionate about helping others become their best selves and educating them on topics such as nutrition, working out, food prep, macronutrients and much more. She has her Fitness Nutrition Specialist certification through ISSA, her Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

    Brittney Boyce is the Practice Manager for AdventHealth Medical Group in Daytona Beach, FL. She has been with AdventHealth, formerly known as Florida Hospital for 2 years. Britney has a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Central Florida. She loves being able to implement CREATION health into her offices and thinks it’s a great way to create and develop relationships with co-workers outside of the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities. CREATION health encourages, motivates, and engages our team to live a healthier lifestyle which in turn, influences our patients to do the same. Outside of her job, Brittney  enjoys spending time with friends and family including her 3 fur kids; Petey, Jackson and Jax. On the weekends she enjoys boating, exercising the dogs, traveling, and trying new things.

    Julia Coleman is the Environmental Services Administrative Assistant at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. Julia has worked at the Daytona Beach campus for seven years. Prior to becoming a Lead Health Champion, Julia was a Health Champion (former Health Coach) for five years. In 2017 Julia received the CREATION Health Coach of the Year Award. Julia received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Public Relations from The Ohio State University. Bilingual in French, Julia loves to visit her extended family in the south of France. Julia enjoys surfing, gardening, painting, tackling home improvements, and thrift/consignment store shopping.

    Sylvia Elledge is the Clinical Best Practice Specialist for the Clinical Effectiveness department at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. Sylvia has been with AdventHealth for seven years. Previously Sylvia worked for Nursing Administration as a PCT, the Intensive Care Unit as an RN, and for Strategy Execution & Innovation (now known as Strategic Ventures) as a Process Improvement Coordinator. Sylvia has had the opportunity to participate in Lean events and other projects that helped her gain exposure to other departments within the organization. Additionally, Sylvia has been a Spiritual Ambassador since 2014 and is thrilled to be a Lead Health Champion at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. Sylvia earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Psychology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and previously worked for The Boeing Company in Washington State in the Manufacturing and Research Development department conducting safety analysis and design reconfigurations to promote best outcomes. As life would have it, Sylvia returned to the area and in a new season of life chose to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. It was only a matter of time before having the opportunity to apply all of her education, working in healthcare quality (OCE). Sylvia is passionate about helping others and seeing them succeed. Sylvia is originally from Puerto Rico and moved quite a bit with her family when she was younger (she had >40 changes of address before age 23). Her interests range from art and travel, to coffee and pastries. Sylvia used to be an avid runner and now has to settle for cycling. Sylvia is the oldest of four daughters, 2 dogs and 2 cats.  Now she is the mom of a very active little boy with a beta fish and 3 hermit crabs.

     

  • AdventHealth DeLand

    Joyce Parrillo, RN is a Certified Diabetes Educator for AdventHealth Deland and AdventHealth Fish Memorial and wellness facility champion for AdventHealth DeLand since 2013. She has worked in the DeLand hospital for over 30 years and continues in her current role in diabetes education for the past 19 years. She is a Registered Nurse and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from University of Central Florida. Joyce enjoys working with the employees at AdventHealth DeLand who want to bring Whole Care into their departments and their personal lives. At home she enjoys bicycling, Yoga, cooking and her 5 pound Yorkie!

    Staci Strand is a Respiratory Therapist for AdventHealth DeLand and currently the Cardiopulmonary Care Navigator who educates patients on their cardiopulmonary diseases and serves as a resource to staff regarding cardiopulmonary disease education.  She has been in the healthcare field serving in different capacities for more than 15 years.  Before joining healthcare and moving to Florida, Staci was a hairdresser and salon owner in Georgia for almost 17 years. She enjoys helping and encouraging her patients to improve their health and wellness and she’s recently become a Health Champion for Creation Health, so Staci can now extend that encouragement to her AdventHealth family as well. When not at work she enjoys traveling with her husband, hanging out with her mother and attending Orlando City Soccer games at home or away.  Staci loves painting, working in the yard, gardening or just hanging by the pool with family and friends.

  • AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach

    Rhonda Bailey has been part of the AdventHealth family for a total of six years. She has been working as a Radiology Business Office Manager for the past three years. She is a mother of one and grandmother of two. Her interests include motorcycles, muscle cars, family and friends, and living a healthy life. Rhonda loves to cook and create healthy meals, or just revamp her old favorites so they can be enjoyed without guilt. She is a self-proclaimed “health nut” and is addicted to her FitBit and My Fitness Pal and encouraging others to live a more healthy lifestyle.

    Steven Reece is an exercise specialist in the cardio/pulmonary rehab center at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach. Steven has spent most of his life focused on health and fitness which is a critical component to his active outdoor lifestyle. He enjoys surfing, skydiving and most water sports which require a healthy lifestyle, so he can play hard. Steven is currently co-chair with the Smyrna Surfari club which is a community based organization that promotes surfing and coastal conservation. The money raised at these surfing competitions and other events has raised over $250,000 towards NSB High School scholarships. He is also a water team captain for the Oceans of Hope foundation which gives para/quadriplegic and special needs athletes a chance to surf. As a Health Champion, Steven looks forward to encouraging and promoting healthy habits for a better mind, body and spirit!

  • AdventHealth Fish Memorial

    Laura Anne “La” Roemmelt received her B.S. in Physical Education and Human Performance at Manhattan College before going on to get her Masters’ in Physical Education and Human Performance/Cardiac Rehab from the University of Wisconson at LaCrosse. LA has worked as an Exercise Physiologist in Yonkers, NY, Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre NY and Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, FL prior to joining AdventHealth Fish Memorial in November 2006. Since 2006, LA has managed the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department, directed the Employee Wellness program, and led numerous community events and speaking engagements. Her claim to fame started not only with her patients but with the hospital’s Biggest Loser Program, assisting in numerous events, the Mall Walkers Program, Hospital Smoke-Free Campaign, Annual Mayor’s Fitness Programs for 3 local towns, and the OC Elementary Afterschool activity program. LA is the AdventHealth Fish Memorial Lead Health Champion, an Adventist Wellness Executive member, CREATION Health Facilitator, CHIP Facilitator and a Spiritual Ambassador. On a more personal note, she has been married to her husband John for 22 years and has two daughters: Rachel, 18 and Megan, 14. Though originally from NY, she relocated to Deltona in 1997.

  • AdventHealth Palm Coast

    Lisa Wilkinson graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Exercise Physiology and Community Health. She has been the manager of the Cardiopulmonary Rehab department for 25 years at AdventHealth Daytona Beach and AdventHealth Palm Coast. Cardiopulmonary Rehab is helping people recover from cardiac and pulmonary illness, so they can resume their daily activities through nutritional education and exercise. Lisa’s greatest professional joy is seeing her patients living a fulfilling, happy, and healthy life. She routinely tells them, “Exercise is the one thing you will never regret.” Her greatest personal joy is her three wonderful children and life’s journey with them.

    Sydney Mariano, RN is happily married with two children. She is a Registered Nurse and currently the Employee Health RN for the Palm Coast campus. Sydney has three years’ experience including inpatient nursing, nurse management, and occupation health. She has practiced her entire career at AdventHealth Palm Coast. Sydney feels blessed to be a part of the mission. She strives to provide employees with the support and knowledge they need to become successful Creation Health Wellness Champions.

  • AdventHealth Medical Group

    Tiffany Rodenborn is the Executive Office Manager and Facility Wellness Champion Lead of AdventHealth Medical Group. In this role, Tiffany supports the President/CEO and the Chief Operating Officer of HCP as well as managing the daily functions of the executive office. She is also responsible for infusing a culture of wellness into the organization. Prior to joining the AHMG family, Tiffany held the position of Executive Assistant supporting the Chief Operating Officer and VP of Ancillary Services at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. She started her career there in 2011 as the Unit Secretary for the BirthCare Center, where she worked for two years. Tiffany is married with three young children and actively serves in her church where she teaches 1st through 5th graders in the children’s ministry. In her spare time, Tiffany enjoys reading a good book and relaxing on the beach.
