Q: How has the program changed this year?
A: In 2020, to fully embrace our “Love Me” service standard, our wellness program will be offered to ALL employees regardless of health insurance coverage (FT/PT/PRN)! Additionally we will be launching new educational programs that will be open for ALL employees to attend. Classes to be offered include CREATION Life Experience, Stress Recovery Effect, Learn and Earns, etc. Our Mission 5K training program will be back again in 2020 & will consist of 9 training sessions and conclude with running, walking, or crawling across the 5K race finish line. Don’t worry, we will be there every step of the way!
Regarding the health incentive reward, the overall structure of the program will remain the same, however, the eligibility will be open for ALL employees to participate. The program will still be divided into a Core and Supplemental payout. Employees will receive $150 for completing the Core section (Part 1) & additional $100 for completing the Supplemental section (Part 2), for a total of $250. Please note: all participants must complete the Core program in order to be paid for the Supplemental program. No payment will be made for completion of the Supplemental program only. To receive the payout in December, participants (FT/PT/PRN employees) must be an active employee at the time of payout.
Q: Why am I doing this?
A: To start or continue on your journey to health and wellness, and to have fun doing it! As an added bonus, for completing the requirements of the program, employees can earn up to $250 as a health incentive reward.
Q: What is the Health Assessment?
A: The Health Assessment combines leading clinical expertise with innovative design to help users understand what’s really going on with their health and identify areas for improvement. At the end, there are some personalized steps that users can begin taking right away to live a longer, better life. As with clinical material, the Health Assessment is clinically validated and follows the guidelines of the US Preventive Services Task Force. Once you complete your Health Assessment, your results will be updated on your personal account. If you completed your Health Assessment before completing your biometric screening, don’t worry — information on your personal account will be automatically updated when your screening results are uploaded. It may take up to 14 days for your results to upload.
Note: The Health Assessment is REQUIRED to complete the Core Section of the program. Typically, the reminder to complete the Health Assessment is on your WebMD homepage underneath “Action Plan.” You must complete the Health Assessment every year.
Q: What is Health Coaching?
A: Health Coaching is available to gain your Core Wellness Points when any of your biometric values were out of range. You will have a short conversation with a qualified professional, who will provide tips on ways to get your metric in the specified range. This is not a pass/fail system; however, a health coach call is required for each metric that is out of range.
Note: Five (5) points will be awarded for each coaching call completed and will count towards your CORE program. You must complete one coaching call for EACH metric that is out of range from your biometric screening.
Q: How do I earn my health incentive reward?
A: Each participant must complete the points in both the Core (50/50 points) and Supplemental (100/100 points) sections to be paid the full health incentive. You may receive a partial payment for only completing the Core section. While the deadline to complete your biometric screening is October 30th, 2020, the deadline to complete the remainder of the program is November 30, 2020. There are a variety of ways to meet the points requirements. This is NOT a pass/fail system. The program is intentionally designed so that truly everyone can qualify!
Core Program (50 points)
- 15 points for completing the Health Risk Assessment
- 15 points for participating in the Biometric Screening (Deadline: October 30, 2020)
- 20 points if all 4 metrics are within range (No coaching calls required)
If any metrics are out of range, you can still earn your points by participating in telephonic health coaching calls. Please make 1 call per metric that is out of range.
Note: While the deadline to complete and submit your biometric screenings is October 30th, it is suggested to have your screening completed prior to October 1st to ensure a timely upload of your screening results.
Supplemental Program (100 points)
- 100 points for attending educational programs offered by Employee Wellness or completing activities or virtual programs on the WebMD portal.
Note: For activities that are not self-reported, please allow 1 month following the event to anticipate your points reflected on your reward page. Health Champion points will not be awarded until the last quarter of the year (typically in October).
Q: How is my privacy protected?
A: Your personal health information is kept confidential and is not shared with Adventist Health System employees that make employment-related decisions. However, some of your personal health information about your participation in Wellness activities is shared with the employees responsible for processing your Wellness Rewards. Other personal health information is shared in a HIPAA compliant way with employees who administer the AHS Employee Health Plan so they can make suggestions regarding how you can improve your health status.
